Yes, it's tuesday again! woooo!

Happy Cinco de Mayo!
I heart Margaritas, and Mexican foods of all kinds..guess I need to get some margarita mix for tonight...lol..I love margaritas..the plain green ones are my fave....and I think we will have Tacos for dinner...

Does any one else watch Good Morning America? We always end up on that channel in the morning, and it always makes us laugh...I have to say I love RobinRoberts...and I have a theory about her...I think she is g.ay. srsly. I have NO problem w/ anyones sexuality..for real...whatever floats your boat...but I just have this feeling that she is..now my GayDar is notoriously busted...so I could be wrong..anyone else care to offer an opinion on this??

Has anyone seen the Denny's commercials w/ the taking robot?

I had to clean my laptop out..I had to unscrew the the back and spray it w canned air..O.M.G the DUST in that bad boy...it was badddddddd....dust, and hair and even DUST BUNNIES. the fan wasn't working right it was so bad...guess I need to do that once every few months..

My 12 year old is now using AXE body spray and body wash...on one hand I am glad he is using soap in the shower and wants to smell nice, on the other hand I am scared...

school is out in less than a month. hold me.

The gardening geek in me has a new project, the rest of my her garden..I have the grass clods in piles, I planted some lettuce seeds...now for the weed block and the mulch..

SO, it is no secret that I am an animal lover, so are my kids, and Del is NOT so much...
I would have a damn zoo if it wasn't for him..lol.. good or bad? you decide..

I am a sucker for a stray...I feed them and care for them outside of my house, on the back porch...
I have fed at this house alone, 4 stray cats...2 of which have found homes, one of which was w/ my sister (much to her chagrin...heh..my BIL loves cats...her, not really...)
This kitten makes 5..
it is a BABY..*maybe* 3 months old, if that...
it seems slightly stymied by the small bits of dog food I gave it..when I wet it w/ water, that worked like a charm :)
it is teething, little shit bit me..lol..razor blade teeth it has!
not to mention glass shard nails!
ow.

The boys are totally taken by this sweet little girl..Dannion tried to have her stay in the house last night, she slept w/ him for about an hr, then escaped the room, and hid in the spare room..I had to sneak out (mind you Del is home by this time..asleep in bed, and had NO clue there was a cat in the house..lmao..I am an evil genius...) if my bed, and find the kitty, at which time I made an executive decision and put the cat on the back porch w/ food and an old shirt to sleep on...
she was quite happy and still on our porch when we woke up...
she is BAD.
likes to bite your fingers...walk on the back of the couch..has NO food manners..she tried to make my pork sandwich from lunch and make it hers..and no amount of pushing her away made a difference...

and the DOG...well, my pansy assed dog is AFRAID of this little kitten..
might have something to do w. the fact that she was a HISSING spitting ball of fur when she saw Zoe..and he decided he wanted NO parts of that shit...so he stood about 3 feet away and barked at it...and the cat growled at him...and the vicious cycle went on and on till I shut the damn dog up...

I know we won't get to keep her, but I am going to find a no kill shelter to take her to...or perhaps my sister will take her home..(hahaha..a girl can dream...)

I will enjoy my time w/ a little kitty while I can!

Yay! i'm back babay!
Had a horrendously busy easter, then a busy week, and a busier week..and well, I am finally back...yay!
I hope someone missed me... ;)

My sister turned 29 on the 21st..so this past weekend we went out..let me say I am SO glad i'm not young & stupid..lol.. we went to 2 bars...and saw some seriously skank-alicious chicks..
I also saw some bad fake boobs (and she was showing them off ..oye vey...) a shit load of bar dancers (you know those chicks, the ones that get on the bar after 12 too many drinks..) and a CHICK fight...that was freaking awesome...
ALSO one HOT friggin bartender...wwooo baby...was he hot...
so I spent the night at my sisters..coz 1 am is too late to drive home 45 minutes...
and let me say my tolerance SUCKS...I had 6 long island iced teas...a whiskey sour, 2 rum and cokes..and a washington apple shot...and I was NOT drunk...WHAT THE FUCK??? I was so dissapointed...I guess I need to stop drinking my wine at night...*sigh*

Del tilled up the rest of the side yard out front so I can complete my herb garden ;) I am so excited...I have alot of grass to yank out, but tilling it is the biggest first step...it is going to be so rocking :)

SO how bout it has been 80* here for the past 4 days..in APRIL. how weird...not that I am complaining..lol..but it is just odd..I hope we can get some 'spring' weather tho...I hate sweating my ass off...

I went to the Dr on the 14th and I gained weight..damn...it was my 2 week thing w. steak fries and ranch dressing that did it...i know it...it was like 3-5 lbs..so not the end of the world, but annoying..i need to start doing regular walks...i am such a slug tho..srsly. i am a couch potatoe at heart...it is sad...

OH OH the gardening geek in me is in HOG heaven..I decided to start my own heirloom tomatoes from seed...and zukes too..everything has sprouted :) the zukes are already in a bigger pot...the tomatoes have a little longer to go for that...I cannot wait...I got red, orange, yellow,green and purple tomatoes...the green tomatos are going to perplex me..how do I knw when to harvest them?? LOL

We are getting new windows in the boys bedrooms...this will be on thursday...the windows in there now are 84 years old...so this should be fabulous for them...and if they break them..I am going to KILLLLLL them dead...d.e.a.d.

Yes, I went to walmart yesterday, good friday.
and yes, I am insane..
it was fucking nutso.
I seriously had all the symptoms of PTSD when I got home..
the line I waited in was like 30 MINUTES.
yes I said 30..
and the little old lady in front of me dropped her milk bottle off the belt, or rather it fell off the belt and split open at the bottom..
I being the nice person that I am, picked it up and gave it to the cashier to handle before it ALL spilled out..
and really, those cashiers need BOUNTY behind their cash registers, not the paper towels they have in the bathroom...coz those things do NOT absorb anything...

EVERY.AISLE. I went down had a dumbass in it that was IN MY WAY.
especially the candy aisle.
srsly
all I wanted was chocolate bunnies and jelly beans..
all I could find was sweet-tart jelly beans..that was OK I suppose..
I refuse to but cheap jelly beans. they are gross.
THEN I bought a bottle of what I THOUGHT was perfume for 5 bucks

I was pissed when I got home w/ it..

the most exciting thing I bought was undies for me. hanes her way, cotton, low cut so they don't hang out of my pants..
OH and a shirt for me to wear tomorrow..so I don't look like a total schlub.

I swear every redneck moron was in wally world..I was irritated..
then of course I cannot make list to save my life, so I kept forgetting what I needed and had to circle around to get it..
I was SO annoyed..

Lets hope easter is fun or at the very least I get good food, which I am sure I will.
I deserve it..

yes, it is that time again folks..TUESDAY babay....yay!

my poor husband had a migraine yesterday that felt like a knife in the back of his head...he actually threw up..he has never had one w/ such violent onset..it came out of nowhere...time to make an Dr appt..he needs to be sure this isn't some weird thing, and see about getting real migraine meds..

I am looking at getting heirloom tomato plants this year..they aren't easy to find, so I am ordering online...anyone ever do this before? if so where did you get them from?
We tilled up the garden yesterday..made it a touch bigger...and I am SO ready to get stuff planted...except that Mother Nature is a huge bitch this week and it is going to SNOW this week. yeah. snow. in april. I am so frigging annoyed. I just want NICE weather...I have a TON planned outside..and wanna get on it! The snow, it sucks ass...hard...

I had to buy a new printer last week, my old canon went tits up on me...was only feeding paper on one side...causing a jam...so I bought an epson, we shall see if I like it...it has 4 ink cartridges, which is annoying coz if one is out then it won't work...

I have a BIG zit brewing on my lip. ew. in fact, it is a HUGE cluster on my lip , that stretches just to the lower part of my cheek. fuck. I hate zits. and it hurts too. I hate having oily skin...the ONLY thing that is a benefit is that I have almost NO wrinkles...hell, even my eyelids get oily..I suppose someday, I will be very greatful...but for now, I am more annoyed..

it is STILL SNOWING. OMFG. this is un real...

I have to come up w/ a dessert for easter sunday that is low calorie and low in sugar...my sister wants me to make a strawberry tart..I have to find a recipe for that...it *does* sounds fabulous...

I think I will make some deviled eggs too...I have a kick ass recipe for them w/ bacon and horseradish...YUM.

I have to get more easter candy...we like cadbury eggs in this house..also reese pb eggs..YUM....also JELLY BELLY jelly beans! YUM! they are so good..love love love them! the best. also will settle for starburst or smuckers...

as I was watching Dollhouse today I was reminded why I love the british accent/society..
They way the say schedule..it is so cool...
I like how the spell Colours...why, I don't know, but I love it..also in the same vein, favourite..
cheque..traveller & theatre (I misspell these 2 alot..maybe I was British in a past life)
ALSO Tonnes (aka TONS) that is cool..
mum is another...
the 'cockeny' accent is fun as well..
they have tea every day and stop whatever they are doing to do so...way cool..wish we could do that with coffee here!!

they smoke..a lot...lol..

the royal family is fascinating to me to me as well...

they have pubs, not bars..sounds classier...

they have boarding school..heh....

Yes its that time again..TUESDAY...random thoughts...its one of the highlights of my week :)
(don't judge me..mmmkay?)

For some reason, the song OPP (NaughtybyNature-lyrics here) got stuck in my head the other day..and then when I saw RTT, well, it fits in the lyrics quite well..so now, that is what I hear when I think of RTT (you down w/ RTT? yeah, you know me...)
why, I have NO idea..but now I think RTT has a song :)

my kids can eat a pound of banana in a days time..srsly. it is scary. we are big fruit eaters here.
of course they are equal opportunity eater, they will eat cake and candy as fast as they eat bananas. But the downside to that is that I rarely get more than a few pieces of fruit...little vultures that they are..

I saw a chick in the convenience store yesterday wearing a pink poncho, trimmed w/ rabbit fur. and glasses that looked like they were 25 years old and WAY too big for her face. she seemed to be in her own little world. I could write a story about her...that much character would have to have a good story behind it...maybe I will do a short story...

I like to write...I remember when I was a kid(5th grade), I wrote a play...an off shoot to cinderella..modernized..also wrote a short story when I was a teenager about reincarnation..I may still have that one, but the play was lost to the ages..

my laptop cord has a broken wire- AGAIN. WTF? the stupid thing is located at the back, and it is angled..it ALWAYS gets stuck underneath...it annoys me. alot. This is the second one in 15 months..the original did the same thing...Del was able to frankenstein it back together, but that makes it a backup only..since he can;t put the hard plastic around the wires again..it is nice having an electricican around...buy ask me how many electrical outlets I have in my room?? ONE. and a VERY full power strip. we have lived here almost 5 years...its like the cobblers kids...they always need shoes.. Me? I want OUTLETS in my bedroom. like 5...lol..

OMFG. get this..my neighbor..my neighbor who has a substandard IQ, whose 'woman' has been in rehab and the nuthatch and is medicated for bi-polar..whose kid is as dumb as the day is long, and who has a 20 year old (the womans kid..) living in the basement who punches his 9 year old brother in the leg b.c he annoys him (yes, he did that...scary he is still there..)
This neighbor,Mr Crazy, BOUGHT A HANDGUN. for real. I wouldn't trust him to watch my DOG, and he was able to buy a gun. WTF. why don;t they give IQ tests for that??
I am scared and told BOTH of my boys they are NOT to ever go inside that house. all I can see is The Spawn saying 'look what my dad has...' waving it and accidentally shooting my kid and killing one of them. NO effin way...
and NOT to mention this stupid neighbor NEVER Has any money...can barely pay his mortgage, regularly gets shut off notices..he makes 6 bucks less an hour than what we bring in...and he spent the money on a fucking GUN. he is such a dumb ass..honetly. like we live in the 'hood. we live in one of the safest areas around. UGH. OK OK....I have to stop now, my BP is going up...needless to say, I am disturbed by this..

My daffodils are getting ready to bloom. YAY! I will take pictures when they do...they are SO pretty. I have pink ones and yellow ones, and white w/ yellow centers...

I Will be glad to see march go away...I am SO sick of fickle weather. I want some warmth, sunshine..I want to garden...and get some color..because wow. I am PALE. if Neon white is a color, I am that...I emit a bright white glare when the sun hits me!!
heh.

did you know they haved do it your self DNA tests? wow. if I had disposable income, I would so buy one and get my DNA done..how fun would that be???

apparently the shamwow guy punched a hooker.. (superbly annoying which I say is why he had to pay for sex..coz come on..who would want to hear THAT voice at climax...*shudders*) apparently, she BIT his tongue and refused to let go, so he punched her a till she did..
come to think of it, maybe he wouldn't shut up, so she bit his tongue in self defense..lol..
they BOTH were arrested for assault..but no prosecution...finally a judicial decision I can understand..lol..

My Gramma(also blogging while buzzed..)

heh...Thanks for the inspiration Keely!!
I just downed 2 bottles of Woodchuck cider...YUM. nectar of the gods I say..
(also, did you know that my grade school principal was Dr Keely?? I loved him..he was an ex-Marine..and an army reservist..he would put the smack down on any kid who gave him shit..and he DID frequently..but he knew EVERY kids name..every one..he died of melanoma a few years ago...it saddened me..he was awesome...)

I got a phone call today, my Gramma went to the hospital..I talked to her earlier today..she was fine..but around noon, she suddenly began vomiting A LOT, passed out, had intestinal issues, was dizzy sweaty and kind of out of it...SO my Aunt called the ambulance, my gram was NOT impressed..I was on pins and needles waiting to hear what was wrong..
apparently she has the Flu..that and a reaction to Amoxicillin she just started taking last night..they ran all sorts of blood work, and she was sent home w/ a Flu DX..and is resting now..
It scared the bejezus out of me..
she is 78...no spring chicken..she has 9 kids, and 38 grandchildren..plus her Great grand children..I am the oldest of the grandkids..and I am 34...

She is fastidious about her health, she goes to Dr appts regularly and takes her medicine...she has 4 other siblings who did NOT do these things and they are no longer with us..she is smart..funny..tolerant..insightful..and a damn saint for having raised SEVEN boys and not killed them or herself..my aunts were challenging too..lol..but there were 2 of them..
Hell she raised me every weekend of my life practically...I spent every weekend w/ her and almost all summer until I left home at 18...I was like her 10th kid..
and she helped to fill spaces in my life that were lacking b/c of my parents divorce..I am a firm believer that it saved me..her extra attention...she is like a second mom to me..
She is the glue that holds our family together...

I know someday soon she is going to die..but, I have a hard time dealing w/ that..I have been bracing myself for it..(despite what I say to her..she will say 'when I die..xyz..and I say STOP it..we don't want to hear it...lol..but I do need to hear it..coz we all die..)
but the child in me, she wants to think her gramma is going to live forever..and make her awesome potroast until the end of time..and be there to glare when someone says a swear in her earshot..and tell me when I need to do something different w. my boys..and listen to me whine about my husband..and make pecan tassies at xmas..make her siganture HAM GRAVY..which rocks the party...and NOT burn the candles everyone buys her for xmas..

when she goes, I will miss so many things...so much of her is me..I look like her, I move like her..she is important in my life..

Dream Jobs..

I was tagged WAY too long ago by Mumma-Boox2 (AKA Cathi) and true to my form, I kept either putting it off, or forgetting about it..yeah...I didn't think anyone would be surprised to hear that!

I am supposed to list 7 jobs I would like to have..DREAM jobs...heh..this should be fun...

1- Psychologist...anyone who knows me know I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to be a psychologist...I analyze people as it is...(yes, I analyze YOU...I analyze everyone...lol..) and I am right quite often...I think being a hairstylist is as close as I am going to get coz it is rough to get paid enough to justify the schooling costs...

2-coffee tester. for starbucks. I may never sleep again, but who CARES!! I'd get free Mochas!! and a hell of alot done as home..

3-Quality control at Woodchuck Hard Cider..this would counter act the effect of the Starbucks job...of course, I would weigh appx 900 lbs..Woodchuck has 200 calories a bottle..

4- book reviewer...I would love the chance to read and get paid...the editing part I may be able to do..I can catch spelling errors, but the grammar and punctuation parts I would suck at...

5- owning a thrift shop. I would give my left arm to get first dibs on the stuff that comes in at the thrift shop down the street from me..the treasures that people have NO idea they are giving away...I would be able to take the cream of the crop and sell it on ebay and be sure that the cool stuff finds good homes..

6-professional test driver...like you see in the commercials..you could drive all crazy, and never get in trouble..and I am sure you would be able to take the cars home...give them a real world test drive...how fun would that be?!? I doubt you would ever have to pay for gas..

7- this may not be technically a JOB...BUT I want to be independently wealthy..coz really, this average life is for the birds..I wanna have OLD money, new money, just MONEY...more than I have now..(yes, I am disillusioned w/ my life right now..bleh)

Itttssss Tuesday! Yay!

Oh god that STUPID comcast commercial is on...ugh. were is the ice pick when I need it..

My best friend Nadine is in Fargo, and they are looking at possibly flooding pretty severely....I hope she stays safe, but as she pointed out, if Fargo gets wiped off the map, she can come back here to live :) which would be rocking..sooo....think about that...lol..and besides Fargo sucks ass...

I watched Twilight Sunday night...OMG that appeals to my inner teenager. I loved it. in fact I am going to BUY the DVD. something I rarely do...I can see where it is slightly schamltzy, but like I said me=15...hehe..I am not ashamed..

Nadya Suleman (AKA Ocotomom god I hate the way the press names people..) may have fired the Angels in Waiting help she has, or at the very least Gloria Allred scared the nanny (which, really, who WOULDN'T be a little afraid of Allred..she is kinda scary!) there was a 911 call placed last week asking the police to remove Allred..check out the linky from TMZ...

and MIRACLES of Miracles, my crazy neighbors TRIMMED the shrubs that have not been touched in like 4 years...I was not too excited when I saw Ms Crazy whacking at them w/ hand trimmers, but they got a set of electric ones and they are DONE. now..we shall see if the rest of the yard fares as well.it looks like a damn field in their front yard..

Death knows no boundaries

I know her name, but that is about it..couldnt tell you what movies she is in..lol..

It doesn't matter how much or how little money you have, how much notoriety, how much someone loves you or how much someone hates you...death doesn't care.

It makes you want to cherish and love those close to you that much more...it makes you notice the little things..be grateful for the small moments in life...

something as simple as the cute look your kids make...the dog climbing onto your lap..holding hands w/ your other half as you fall asleep..a phone call from a friend...it all makes you happy to be alive, happy to be where you are..happy it isn't you who has to explain to your kids why mommy isn't coming home...It makes all the small annoyances in life seem like NOTHING...

I remember when my grampa died in 1988...that was so traumatic for me as a 13 YO..It was so damn hard for me to know he was never going to be coming home, that I wouldn't ever hear him call me 'Kid # 1' (I was the oldest grandkid..so I was kid #1...) that he wouldn't be in his office when I went to visit every weekend...he was gone.
when my gramma (moms mom) died in august of 07, that was not as traumatic, it was a shock and partially a relief coz she was steadily declining in health and between her and my uncle who had a mental breakdown, my mom was stretched beyond the limit...it made me sad to know I would never go on another shopping trip w. her and my mom & sister again, she wouldn't ever get to go on another bus trip to atlantic city...but she was at peace, and not suffering anymore..

I know when I come home tonight from work, I am going to hug my babies and thank god I am here, that they are here..I know this will evoke squalls of "stop it mom" from the oldest..but the youngest will eat it up ;)
THAT is what I need to cherish, to relish..
and I know when we go to bed tonight and i watch my shows, we will snuggle up together and I will be glad I have someone, as flawed as he may be..I love him...

one of my friends is also going thru a loss, Jamie & her family are dealing with her grandmother's accident and possible death right now, keep her in your thoughts and prayers or whatever you do.

and go hug your babies and enjoy those little things

I just spilled my morning coffee all over me. my god, I am SO KLUTZY! thankfully,it wasn't hot enough to burn me..but srsly? I do shit like that more than the average person...

Today is St Patty's day. I am Irish(like 25%...lol...mostly I am Polish...no really..heh..) I heart St Patricks day! One of my dreams is a trip to Ireland. I wanna go to Kilkenny County (where my ancestors came from) to Castlecomer where my family was centered & meet some Irish Buggy's. I'd like to take my dad. he would be over the moon :)

I went out w/ friends on friday, and we played pool..I suck at pool. seriously. it is just painful to watch me play.and no amount of run & coke will make me play better.Which is completely opposite of drinking & my bowling score. The more I drink, the better my score gets!!

I have to remind my eldest (who is 12) to comb his hair like 3 times a day..and I have serious doubts that he actually uses a comb. I think he uses a frying pan. or his fingers.
when does that obsession with personal hygeine and appearance start?? I am so ready for it.

my kids have found a disturbing new game to play The Torture Game
part of me finds it disturbing.Part of me says cool.

and I am raising part of the next generation. scary huh?

OK, I am done w/ my random for the week. I have a 9 year old boy stalking me for computer time. I put him off as long as I could, but now I hafta give it up. besides I need to get ready for work. another long day. I have ONE appt down and I bet she doesn't show. ugh.

I was thinking last night on my way home from work..I saw a car w/ a burned out headlight, and thought "PIDDIDLE!"

Friendship bracelets? they were made with embroidery floss and knotted to make a bracelet in various colors..you would attach them to a safety pin, and then the pin to your jeans to work on your craft ant any given opportunity..math class was always a fave..lol..

jelly shoes, of course, but it sucked when your feet got seaty..

off the shoulder shirts, I had one that was pink, and had a picture of a cat on the front w/ glitter accenting it..my god I thought that was the BOMB.

JEANS skirts...I remember my first one..awesome..

I also pegged my jeans, had acid washed jeans w/ zippers at the ankle in the back, and little bows above the zippers...friggin high fashion baby..lol..

so anyways, this is what I see when I walk into my kids room yesterday...

since he is a webkin, I think maybe my kid got sick of losing on the wheel of WOW or getting NO gems in the gem hunt...this treatment serves as a warning to other webkinz...i'll let you know if it works..

Yes, it's tuesday again...wooooo!

You know, there is one particular commercial that bugs me, the Duracell commercial for the Brickhouse Child Locator...(which is basically Lo-Jack for your kid)...yes, it is scary when the kids wander off, but ya know..in my 12 years of child rearing I have never had a need for Lo Jack...and that kid? when she finds him, she hugs him...Ha! that is SUCH a load..obviously the commerical was produced by someone who doesn't have kids...coz what they REALLY should have shown was the mom thwacking that kid upside the head and asking him WTF he was thinking...
I also tell MY kids that someone will steal them and then mutter under my breath that whoever does it will bring them back in a matter of minutes..coz they are such godless heathens..lol..(I of course am kidding, seriousness elludes me even in parenting..)

March is a FICKLE BITCH. it was 8* one week ago...then 70* on saturday...and now it is back down to the 50's...my daffodils are peeking, as are crocuses and tulips...my day lilys are starting to poke up and my iris' too! I wanna start planting...SO bad...

We had an anatomy lesson last night(get yer mind out of the gutter) my kids & I looked at eachothers eardrums..it was pretty cool...the 9 year old was pretty fascinated w/ it. and let me say all of our ears have wax we cannot reach w/ a q-tip...ew. I am an ear cleaning fanatic...I know, bad bad, but they are my ears--nener nener...

I am premenstrual and my bewbs hurt. alot. I hate being a girl sometimes...woudn't it be nice if men had sore balls once a month??? of course if THEY had an annoyance that hit once a month there would have been a cure for it millenia ago...

I am going to take Keelys advice and try blogging w/ wine next time..whats got the highest alcohol content? coz I have one helluva tolerance...I need me heavy duty booze...lol..

OMFG it is MARCH THIRD and it was 7* last night, a -15 windchill and we have a 2 hour delay...SRSLY? I am ready to ring Mother Natures neck..coz that bitch is screwing w/ me now...gggrrrrrrrr

I FINALLY caught up on my sleep from Saturday/Sunday...that was 2 days to feel normal again...wow. I am OLD. it takes me 2 days after a night of debauchery & drinking to feel normal again..old old old...

Does anyone else watch Life on Mars thursday nights?
I am digging it..Jason Omara is friggin ADORABLE.
It is set in the 70's, and the sound track is 70's..I expected some horrible music, but I am have been pleasantly surprised...

My boss is awesome. I usually open the shop at 10 and when my kids have a 2 hr delay, she is totally OK w/ me going in at 11...she is awesome...

I have been playing the Sims lately...I am addicted. again. so is the hubby...I wanna get Sims 2...anyone know what the differences are?

The Miracle of Birth!

I got to experience it, as a third party anyways.
One of my my best friends, Krista, gave birth Sunday morning to a beautiful baby boy!
I was able to be there and witness it and wow. it never ceases to amaze me. ever.

We tried various methods of old wives tales to get her to go into labor friday..we made her walk up stairs..she drank a teaspoon of balsamic vinegar...she squatted, she bounced on her bed, she jumed up and down..she wouldn't however gallop and let us video her. pansy. she wouldn't gallop at all..
but her 4 year old got a kick out of this youtube video..

We did too...my god did we laugh...
we tried accupressure points on her thumb, ankle and hand..nothin.
SO, after she was exhausted beyond belief, we called it quits.
Saturday she came in to work and got a Pedi..I made it last 2 hours :) she soaked her feet, we removed callouses, we scrubbed them w/ a sugar scrub, did a clay foot masque..and massaged, in which I also did the accupressure points to hopefully help her go into labor...
we polished her toes and she went home to relax more!

Later that night I went to a scrapbooking event, and was doing some pages when I checked my phone & saw that Nicole had called..she was to call me when Krista went into labor..EEEEKKKKK..I called her back and yes indeed-y Krista's water broke!
SO, after I squealed like a 6 year old girl..I gathered my stuff and off I went..drove like a MANIAC to meet Nicole..(srsly. I broke many traffic laws).. we drove her car down to the hospital...
we were both exhausted, she has only about 3 hrs of sleep the night before and I had been up since 6:30 am...it was 11:30/12 at this point..but once that adrenaline hit, wow. I was awake and hyped up..
we got there and she was in triage, so we waited till she got a room and joined her..
they gave her Pitocin to strengthen her ctrx, they were weak and not very regular...
Mark (the baby's dad..) was there and he had *just* taken a muscle relaxer for a sore back when she called him that her water had broken, so he was tired..the staff got her all settled in and she told him to take a nap...so he did...and he snores. alot. kinda loud. I offered up my iced tea bottle for her to throw at his head, but she didn't..lol..

We sat around and talked...watched infomercials..Nancy Grace (wow that woman is abrasive..) then she was ready for the epi by 3...after she got that and was all settled in again, we came back in..bs'd more..watched the newer version of King King w/ the sound off..and let me say that movie SUCKS, out loud. it was much better w the sound off...tho we there was NO way to follow the story line. it had none.
the most surreal part of it was the T-rex's....WTF? how did T-rex's end up in a King Kong movie?? not just one, 2 and possibly 3 of them...
AND they must have an affinity for Skinny White Woman flesh coz they kept chasing her all over the island..I was thinking that there had to be more meaty prey on that island than her....
so then Kong decides he likes her..and he saved her from the T Rex's...
and eventually they came back for her and Kong killed them...not JUST killed them, but broke their jaws as he killed them..THAT was just gross..cool, but gross..
Needless to say, I wouldn't waste 2 hrs of my life to watch that movie w/ the sound on...but I bet the experience would be better if you were smoking a joint..lol..w/ the sound OFF that is..

OK, back to the labor! at about 5:30 she was feeling something, pressure or whatever, no pain, but the nurse came in...cathed her (I would have had a UTI in about 10 second from that!!) and realized she was ready to push!
SO they got the Dr from wherever Dr's go while waiting on deliveries, and got the party started!
They wouldnt allow 3 people to be there for the delivery, so Nicole oh so graciously allowed me to remain..I love her :) she is awesome...
so they got her all ready to go...broke the bed down, the mirror and lights ready..and she started pushing..it seriously took like 3 pushes and the last one was long b/c the DR allowed the baby's head to slowly ease out so she wouldn't tear..
Mark was a tad grossed out..lol..but I made sure he looked at the head coming out..
he made it thru the labor quite well..
Jonah Thomas was born at 5:57 am...6lbs 5 ozs and 20.5 inches long..
the after birth did Mark in..lol..he had to get some air..Nicole came back in and we all oooooo'd and ahhhh' over the bubba..he is so sweet...looks like his daddy! and has a TON of dark wavy hair..
he also has webbed toes! his second and third toes are webbed! its kinda weird, kinda cute!!
he nurses like a champ :)
Mamma Krista did so well and has a much deserved 2-3 day vaca at the hospital..

I so want to be a Doula, it is a dear dear wish of mine..someday..when my kids are older and more self sufficient...

Random Tuesday Thoughts

it is friggin COLD here..like 7*...WTF is that?? I am SO over freezing my arse off...srsly.

I did NOT successfully fight off the cold I started getting last week..I ignored the sore throat, that was my fatal error. that and Giant Eagle was out of Airborne..TOTALLY out. they have THREE rows of empty spaces...I was not amused...I did however get it from RiteAid the next day..and they were over priced..so I took it and i think I managed to shorten it...however, I managed to get pink eye, viral I believe. which is something that comes along w. head colds..FUN fun over here.. I am lucky enough to have some left over eye drops from one of the kids bouts w/ pink eye and it seems to help...

Me and my friend Nicole were talking about drinking games...and came up w/ a good one for Grey's Anatomy....every time Meredith says 'Seriously!?!'(or anyone for that matter) you take a shot....how drunk would you get?? REALLY blasted.

We had a baby shower for 2 of our friends saturday...and I had a Chocloate Martini at 3 pm...heee...
Our baby showers always involve booze for those not pregnant...and lots of fun gifts!

I managed to squeeze myself into a size smaller jeans..and tho I felt like denim encased sausage, I was assured I looked fine...

Gavin puked his brains out saturday night, AT his friends house...ugh..I felt horrible..Del was there, and the lid was down on the toilet..need I say more? and then he yakked on the porch going to the car...he didn't yak yesterday or sunday, but this morning he was up at 5:45 in the bathroom and he wasn't puking..struggling w/ sending him to school or taking him w/ me to work..since i am the only one there to open, I have little choice..and I have an appt today!
If he was puking/feverish severly contagious, I would most certainly stay home w/ him...ugh.
ya know, I have unlimited time wed, thur fri to be home, but no one ever gets sick then..

I also slammed my finger in my station at work...ours are pretty cool, the sink is integrated w. the styling station and you lift up the counter top to use it..well, I was lowering it yesterday and my pink got caught and severely pinched..my finger nail has a purple line across it and HURTS. alot.

OK off to shower and decide on Gav's fate for the day....

the husband got a ticket last night, for blowing a red light, he is always cautious when he drives, so much so I think he drives like an old lady...and the one time he trails a car thru a red light in a LONG time, he gets caught. 109 bucks. ick. no points however.

Ok, so I have boys therefore I have surrendered myself to chaos, messes, LOUD voices, cuts bruises and broken things...I am one w/ the testosterone...(insert *ohm* here)
But lemme tell ya...they broke a window last night, in the big boys room...after they were TOLD to tone to knock off whatever wrestling competition they had going on...I was letting the dog out when I heard the smash of glass from above..and then heard the explosive rant from the Dad..ooooo boy....that was ugly...
The story we were given (I say story because I am not sure this is how it transpired..I have my doubts..there were some glances and looks exchanged that led me to not believe them...we shall see..I bought the tickets for the guilt trip last night...i'll let you know how they like it...) was that they were wrestling and Gavin's head was what made the glass shatter coz he tripped and ran into the window w/ it...
Gav has no cuts, no bumps or anything else that was suspect..
Now these windows are 80+ years old, so it is possible that he could have caused it to shatter by a simple bump..
but it had some force behind it...I dunno..
We will be getting a new pane of glass to replace that one..
Del is insistant that they pay for it themselves..and I concurr..it won't be a ton of money..uner 20 I am sure..
and they will assist him in installing said glass...
just like they cleaned up the floor to get any stray shards...

What else have my children broken?
Why THREE other windows in various manners..
one in the big boys room, that was only a crack tho..
and 2 storm door windows..both while screwing around..
Oh I am sorry, make that FIVE windows total...D broke a window on our porch a few summers ago by flinging a baseball bat and it randomly hit the window...

My god, I have my own wrecking crew. WTF?
maybe I should hire them out...

Dannion has had 2 broken arms....
Gav has had stitches...

It is simply amazing the chaos my children have caused...the wet floors (& dripping ceilings!)in the bathroom from bathing gone awry, the mud tracked in from outside, the wet windows outside from battles with the hose...

I know me and my sister never made this much mess. ever.
We didn't break shit or break ourselves...

HOW on earth did my grandmother do it w/ 9 kids? HOW??

Also, along the same lines of 9 kids..
WTF is up w/ the octuplets??
She has 6 other kids, and EVERY day there is a new twist to the tale..
She swore she wasn't getting assisatnce, yet she is getting food stamps, and 3 of her kids get disability...
Her mother, my goodness, she was pretty loose lipped about the whole thing......wonder if that had anything to do with how her daughter turned out...
I hope those babies end up OK, they are simply adorable..
and the fertility Dr?? sounds fishy to me there...
and she has a PUBLICIST!!! OMG! and is feilding book deals and TV show offers...way to make a living from your kids..
sheesh.

Stupidity at school

Ok, so I drop Gavin off at school, mostly coz I wanna avoid Ms Crazy and partly coz I am lazy in the morning and would rather take him than get to the bus on time..heh..
Now, if you get there while the buses are dropping off, you have to go to the back parking lot, and the kids go in a back door to go to class..OK fine..
Now, it is a semi circle to drop them off, turn left into lot, drop kid off at door, leave lot, turn right..
Sounds SO simple..
RIGHT.
SO not simple...
I swear to GOD every day there is at least 2-3 people who STOP their car, PARK it and WALK the kid up to the door, mind you they do NOT use a parking space..they STOP RIGHT IN THE DRIVING LANE.
can you go around?
sometimes..but mostly no.
To be fair there are THINKING parents who will actually park in a space, and walk the kids up..fine, no big...whatever floats your boat..
I cannot tell you how many times these dumb asses have caused a major back up on the road behind the school...(it is a campus style so it isn't a real *road* but still, irritating when you wanna get the hell out of the lot!)
It is astounding..really astounding..
and there is ALWAYS one woman who does it..the same one, and I see her more often than not..I do NOT understand why she can't park in a space and just walk a tad further...
It just irritates me to NO end..makes me wanna bang my head off the steering wheel..

Lazy one!

OK, so we all know *someone* in the relationship is lazier than the other...could be just a little, could be a LOT..
who is it in yours?

In ours, I am more on the lazy side by and large...maybe it should be called more 'lax'..
Del is very very fastidious in many ways..he is neat by nature (I am most certainly NOT) and that I think makes him more apt to be a go getter and get moving faster on projects( and actually finish them! I am notorious for not finishing things..)
I on the other hand am much better at cooking than he..I can get better deals...on anything really..
I tend to look at things much more positively than he..

Yay!

1- I saw a hawk of some kind today at work..he was poking around a shrub, I assume, looking for a small animal to nab...he was so pretty!
BUT I did yell at him to go find somewhere else to eat, as I didn't want to witness the demise of a smaller bird, or a rodent of some kind...he ignored me..lol..

2-my voice is STILL jacked up from the SuperBowl..heh..sounds like I have laryngitis..the parade is on TV today...which leads me to..

3- WOOOOHOOOO! PITTSBURGH IS NOW SIXBURGH! we did it :) YAY!! Steelers Nation ROCKS

OK, got that out of my system!!

4- little boys are SO damn noisy...urgh...and the ones here, aren't listening...locking them in a basement is appropriate parenting right?? RIGHT!?!??!? (tell me it is coz i don't wanna let them out..)

5- I am very very VERY over winter. very. Snow is pretty, yada yada..but I am just DYING for spring...I need my gardening fix..hehe..

6- I get to take a trip to the DMV this week I have to get my DL picture taken for my new license..and I make sure I get a GOOD picture..I have to live with it for 4 years, so I look damn good in it..

7- see number 3 :)

8- I LOVE love love Cucumber ranch dressing. srsly. alot. I dip almost everything in it...

9-My kids have WAY too many racing video games..I mean way too many. I bet they have 15...plus for the gameboys/DS systems.
I find them soooo boring..but at least it keeps em out of my hair!! heh..

10- DRIVING annoyance..I absolutely HATE it when peeps don't use their TURN SIGNAL.
WTF am I a mind reader???? dude, it is so not hard to do..flick the little thingie beside your steering wheel, and VOILA, the drivers behind you know which way you are turning..

We are still a history making team.
The games are always ugly, we fight, scramble and scrape to win..

I was seriously PRAYING the Lords Prayer during those last 2 minutes. for real.

I was just thinking today on the way home from dropping Gav at school, I have done some DUMB things. Well, let me rephrase that...dumb things happen to me...
and they are HILARIOUS sometimes..
Like, over the summer, I was driving just after a rain storm, and had the window down(I was smoking..yes...I know...bad me..) and I drove thru a puddle, it was BIG, and all of a sudden, SPLASH, in my FACE went dirty puddle water...in my face, on my pants..and it almost put out my cig...
and i was doing like 35 at the time..WTF??
It shocked the hell out of me, and it was COLD.
I bet someone was laughing their asses off at me...
I have NO idea, I quickly recovered and never looked behind me...lol..

and this winter, I was cleaning the windshield off w/ my wipers before we left, and I had the door open for some reason, and POOF all the snow came in on my FACE.

I just do dumb shit all the time...srsly.

Yes, it is Tuesday again...time for another edition of Random Tuesday Thoughts

The dog is stinky, really. he has that 'doggish' smell about him..ew....not overwhelming, but its there..

My kids have a 2 hour delay today, which totally screw my work schedule....I will have to open an hour late...no big, no one on the books..just annoyed in general..lol..

WHY is it that no matter HOW many pencils we may have here(which is somewhere in the range of 50,000...) we can NEVER EVER EVER find a sharpened one?? ever. I sharpened like 8 last week, and they are all GONE. gone. like an alien spacecraft is beaming them up or, a blackhole somewhere in my house is sucking them in...ORRR maybe, just maybe there is a troop of Gnomes that steal them at night....(I am going w/ the Gnomes myself...)

I am already planning my gardening for the spring. seriously. Winter is starting to wear on me..I cannot wait to get outside, in the warm sun & play in the dirt ;)
Yes, I am a huge geek..lol..but I love my plants!!

I have a new addiction... Scrabble Rack Attack I love Scrabble in general, this is fun, a way to keep my mind sharp..and learn new words...lol..see? GEEK.

Apparently Ms Crazy Neighbor checked herself into the nuthatch(I can call it this b/c I am nutty myself..lmao..) and got on medication...and she is a whole new person (gag me w/ a credit card and put me on layaway...)
WHATEVAH.
She is on meds, that doesn't make her any better in my eyes..
that just makes her a tad more normal and stable than before...
Which, I suppose is good for The Spawn, as no child deserves to live in that unstable of a home, including Satans Spawn...(and more stability means less of a chance of ME being on his 'hit list' when he is a teenager..)
BUT all the spouting off Mr Crazy did was all just talk, no real shock, since I am pretty convinced he is not only co dependent and enabling, he is also lazy and has sub normal intelligence...
and as an added bonus, I won't have him over here bugging me as much...small thing, but my sanity can be pretty tenuous at times...
seems that Del was right, and he wasn't ever really going anywhere...heh..I hate it when he is right..lol..

The dog ran away Monday evening..I opened the door to hook him on his leash, and BAM he was GONE.
someday he is going to hurt himself..
he was home in 20 minutes as always, but still..super annoying..especially since it was like 10* and I felt I had to walk down the block to see if he was still within eye sight..he wasn't..and my fingers were SO damn cold..UGH...
he was properly ashamed of himself...came home w/ head hung low and thirsty as hell...lol..
no wonder since he pee's on EVERYTHING he possibly can when he runs away..dork...lol..

OHHHH and The Spawn dropped the F bomb, AGAIN, in context..
the first time he did it he was 4..and he does it every few months,,,and most of the time I ream his ass OUT.
I told him that there is NO reason for him to EVER say that word. ever.
and I asked him if he wanted me to wash his mouth out w/ soap, to which he said NO....
and I told him if he was MY kid, I would have his ass so sore, that he wouldn't be able to sit down for a week!
and then Mr Crazy called to ask me something about BasketBall and I proceeded to ream HIS ass out..lol..
I told him the reason that The Spawn says this word is from a lack of consistancy..and punishment...his says I do punish him, and proceeded to run down a damn list of things he has done to punish said child, I said well, it isn't working, and there is NO REASON for a child of 4,5,6,7,8 OR 9 to EVER EVER say that word. ever.
Needless to say,after that, he avoided me like the plague..lol
ahhhh sweet sweet silence...

Silly Sports Rituals

OK so I am DIE hard, genetically predisposed-to-be a Pittsburgh Steelers fan(note- my spell checker did NOT have Steelers in it...tsk tsk...it does now!)
and as a die hard football fan, I have some silly beliefs/rituals...anyone else who is a hard core fan does too...trust me..they may or may not admit it, but they do.
When we lost the AFC Championship game to the Pats a few years ago, I attributed it to the fact that I wore a bracelet I had just gotten....I never should have worn it..I hadn't ever worn it for a game before..and when I did we had a gut wrenching loss...seriously. I boycotted ALL NFL news after that game. it was just too painful to watch..

When we WON the Superbowl in 05...I attributed that to the fact that we watched the game EVERY week w/ friends of ours, and we went there for the SB...and we WON..that was a grand old time..I wasn't sure if I was ever going to see the Steelers win a SB in my adult life...and O.M.G the high from that was just amazing...we went out on their back porch and banged wooded spoons against pots & pans..as did the WHOLE neighborhood w/in ear shot...heh...it was snowing to beat hell and peeps were setting off fireworks..OH it was BEAUTIFUL..cellphones were ringing constantly..it was just NIRVANA...

If they are losing a game, I have been known to leave the room,& miraculously, they start to win!!
I wear the same shirt sometimes...
and this week, I am going to be wearing the same outfit I wore last week...my Hines Ward jersey, a pair of tan sweat pants...& the same undies (washed tho...cannot be that gross..LOL..)
I am struggling w. the idea of watching in the same place tho..we were at my grammas and that is 40 minutes away...I may see if the friends we used to watch w/ are available...

at any rate, anyone else have any silly sports rituals?

Random Tuesday Thoughts

AH it is Tuesday yet again!! yay! been a decent week...tho work has been way dead...I am NOT thrilled....

OK so here goes my randomness...

1- I deeply heart my morning coffee, there is nothing quite like sucking down said cup o joe in the morning, alone. in the quiet. w/ the dog curled in a ball beside me on the couch (shhh...don't tell the hub, he doesn't allow the dog on the couch, but I do in the mornings :)

2- I am STILL geeked out on Zelda for the DS....trying to beat it....how did we do it before the net? I have had to look up more walk thrus and guides...and my kid has to ask for his DS..to which I say 'hang on, i'm trying to do something....'....heh...

3- I got my hair cut yesterday! No big deal you say? Ha! It IS a big deal when you are a hairstylist...lol..no one has time or wants to stay at work later..lol...which is why I color mine myself...which is next on the list!

4-I think I am getting a sore throat. fuck, that ain't good. Airborne here I come...

5- my crazy neighbor(the chick) checked into the nuthatch...and so we know that he won't leave her...damn. I still have crazy neighbors..*sob*

6- I am a lipgloss whore...seriosuly. I have 30+ tubes...I need to go thru them tho...since I colored my hair red, alot of stuff doesn't look right on my anymore...

8- I regularly drive over the speed limit. always. It is not good...I am going to get my ass a ticket...I have such a lead foot..its not like speed demon bad, but it is like 10-15 over..bad me..

9- people who MUST pass you only to get off at the exit 500 ft in front of you annoy me. they should be rounded up and shot.
10- my feet are SO calloused it is almost criminal. I actually wear holes in the bottom of my socks in the winter b/c they are so rough. seriously. I have a nickle foot file in my shower I could used every day...but only manage to use a few times a month....

I am an animal lover at heart...if I could, I would have a damn zoo..but alas, the hub keeps me w/ one dog...whom I love to bits..lol..and if I had my way, the dog would sleep in my bed should he choose...but again, the hubby is a party pooper..lol..
I gave birth both times sans medication, no epi, no IV drugs, nada. and I would do it again. AND whats more, I would have a HOME BIRTH is a hot second. yes, a homebirth..no I am not crazy :)
I have never lived alone. ever.
I moved 2000 miles away from home when I was less than a month out of high school..I would do it again too.
I have about 30% gray hair. I am 34. that is so wrong. good thing I am a stylist...
I am a cover hog..lol..I also grind my teeth and drool (gross) in my sleep. I also used to snore but since I dropped 31 (omfg..wow...) lbs I stopped :)
My mom was 19 when I was born..she was a gramma at 41...and loves every second of it! My own gramma was a gramma at 44...and they both still look so young :)
I read voraciously. I can knock out an 800 page book in 2 days..of course NOTHING else gets done..lol..
I can remember almost ALL of the birthdays in my family. and that is alot of peeps. BUT no way can I remember their birthday ON their birthdays...have NO idea why...

I am very socially akward most of the time. I feel very out of place and self concious..especially if I don't know anyone where I am at...I have a small core group of friends that I hang w/ and that is it....

Tight Fittin' Jeans AKA Random Tuesday Thoughts

Yes, another edition of random thoughts!! YAY!
Its been a helluva a week here...back to the grind and daily routines...which I missed oddly enough..talk to me in Feb when I am half nuts w. cabin fever...lol...I will wish for some insanity...

1-my uncle and aunt(who is chinese) & family came to visit my gramma and the rest of us last week..and O.M.G. she makes the BEST chinese food ever. she made pork dumplings, FROM SCRATCH. *drool* I ate enough of those to make me gain a pants size...honest. not to mention fried rice (which I can NEVER duplicate..ever. I have tried.) and broccoli chicken stir fry.. my god..I ate so much...I would pay her to make me dumplings and send them to me...like she has nothing better to do w/ her time..lol.. they have 3 girls..15-5...she is a CPA as well..and my uncle is a carpenter by trade, and he is damn good at it too!! I miss them, especially my uncle, who is my godfather...haven't seen them in like 4 years!! My cousins have all grown up quite well!!

2- I ate SO much this holiday I KNOW I gained a pants size (I like saying pants size instead of pounds..Denile is a nice place...) I have a Dr appt this week & I am SO scared to see the scale...think if I fast & have nothing but juice it will help me in 2 days? me either...lol..

3-my dog is 'singing' along w the fire whistle that is going off..heh..it is HILARIOUS.he sounds so funny..and he looks funnier still..dead serious about it..

4- thank GOD school is back in...those boys of mine were going to KILL each other pretty quick if they weren't separated...

5-it is freezing raining(is that a word?) here and supposed to snow later on...I love snow!!

6-I have to pee in the middle of the night 75% of the time..it is so annoying..I blame childbirth...I also say that my eldest will pay for my tummy tuck someday..since he stretched it all out..and the youngest will pay for the boob lift since he used them the longest (2.5 yrs!!)..lets hope for good jobs...lol..

7-I finally got sprung from physical therapy! YAY! I have a few new stretches I have to do, but otherwise I am good! Also, based on how far I can reach beind my back w/ my good arm, I am hyper flexible..lol..which accounts for how easily I dislocated my shoulder & why I always twist my ankles..need to tell hubby this..lol...or maybe not..heh...

8-crazy neighbor update...he is STILL not out..but he is supposed to be leaving this week..ha. ALSO...SHE is blaming the fact that he is leaving on MY HUSBAND. get that shit?? I said WHAT? Yeah, coz you know threatening to slit the father of your childs throat is never a reason for him to leave...she found the court papers in his pocket..andtook his phone & car keys...CARAZY...just hope she doesn't ask ME what I think...coz she won't like my answers...nutjob...

9- the big boy got Guitar Hero for the DS...I am curious how it works....and glad that they will leave my TV alone..lol..

10- I am fresh out of random thoughts..go figure...

1-I am kidless tonight..and what are we doing? NADA. that just seems wrong...

2-anyone else find the Progressive Insurance commercials annoying??? I do..I wanna take Flo & her tricked out name tag and ship them to Bora-Bora (wherever that may be..)

3-I am making an extraordinary amount of typos tonight...seriously..if I didn't correct myself it would look like a drunken 6 year old typed it..

4-my hair needs cut.

5-the kids got Nintendo DS's for xmas..and I am GEEKED out over Zelda..lol...I think I have played it more than Gav..I am serious...looking up cheats online and everything. see? geek...

6-I made up a new word..awesomely...lol..(OK so my spell checker says it is a word...but none the less...)

7-my shoulder feels awesomely (new word alert!) PT is almost over...woooo!

8-my crazy neighbors are breaking up..which means The Spawn is going to be moving coz his dad is filing for custody (rightly so since she is a drunk who refuses to dry out & she is mean ...) lets pray for a quick foreclosure so I can get new NICE neighbors...or less crazy..which ever..anything is better than what we got now..lol..

9-I have lost TWO Ulta eyeliners in the last 2 months...TWO. WTF??? they are they nice ones...plastic where you turn it to get the eyeliner out...never runs...I am so annoyed..I have to FIND them. and fast.

10- i'm hungry. and wanna go get a beer (or a Woodchuck cider which is my equivalent)

why I LOVE my birthday!

see, I am a HUGE geek about my birthday...even at 34.
It is a day I can reflect on myself and who I have become...
I can remember w/ fondness my past birthdays..and know I am wiser now...
age is but a number to me..I don't feel any older now than when I was 18...wiser-HELL yeah, older not so much...
It is a day where I can feel giddy about a passing year...feel all excited because it is the anniversary of the date i entered the world, and made it a better place!!
and lets not forget the PRESENTS..and the dinner we always go out for..
even tho it IS 6 days before Xmas..it is STILL special to me..my mom ALWAYS went out of her way to make it fun, and a BIRTHDAY despite being so close to Xmas (she always had a party for me..now granted, I had my presents under the Xmas tree..heh..THAT was cool tho..) she always said it wasn't like I asked to be born so close to a major holiday..(even tho I was THREE weeks late..my due Date was 12/1!!)
My presents were ALWAYS wrapped in bday paper and not xmas (not so much now..she is slacking..lmao..)
& I always got SEPARATE gifts...never got ripped off..

I am a Sagittarius..on the cusp of Capricorn..I have Taurus rising which makes me more of a homebody...Sag's are typically lucky people, which I am to a degree, and klutzy, which is me..heh..TOTALLY.
We have happy go lucky..exhuberant and generally fun to be around..I am adventerous, social (sometimes..lol..) and know a little bit about everything, b.c I LOVE to learn..anything.
I have great comic timing...and remember WAY too many things..my ruling planet is Jupiter..hence the luck...I am a Fire sign, which you would know if you knewmy temper..lol..takes quite a lot to piss me off,but oohh buddy when I do go off..NOT fun...
I am very intense..& I hate to be penned in by anyone for any reason..jealousy sucks..lol..and i am not jealous by any means..
I am open minded by and large..and a live and let live kinda person..I am spontaneous too...AND very positive!! I love to give gifts ;)

of course, this sign has its bad sides too...we can embarrass our loved ones by accident by replaying their silly moments...we can also be tactless...I tend to like to spend money...sometimes frivolously..and I LOVE to accumulate stuff..also bad..lol..I can be moralistic sometimes to a dangerous fault..and I can be too free w/ my opnions..and WAY too honest sometimes...the small details in life always get me...lol..chores suck and have a horrible time making myself do things!

It has not been a fun place in my addled brain...
this will get a tad heavy, so be warned..

I do suffer from depression (currently held in check w/ cymbalta...) and ADD, which is not being treated at the moment due to BP issues, I am hoping to get back on those wonderful meds soon...since my BP is under control now..

My marriage has been in a rough patch for a good year now, that brought on alot of reflection on my part..and then the bottom fell out...
not that it is horrible here, I am just now coming to the realization of HOW HARD being married is...and in specific to my husband, god knows he is a good man, but he has as many issues as I do, as different as they are, they are just as serious..and our issues together do not make for much fun.
He is a very particular person, a neat freak some may say, and has NO clue how to dissipate stress, and it builds too much in him..and he lashes out in a way that is impossible for me to deal with..he goes on a neatness rampage, which for me is NOT good. the ADD In me makes me want to be a pack rat..I fight it, but it is a struggle...and thus you see the crux of my problem...

I have come to realize in the past few weeks that he is NEVER going to change and that is scary to me..and has led me to wonder if I CAN be here with him in all of this for the rest of my life...
hence the depression wheedling its way back in...
I am honestly not sure where this is all going to go..
I do know that I love him still, and don't want to be w/o him, but do I have what I need to have IN MYSELF to deal w/ it for 50 years..I don't know...
bleh.
I have to work thru it within ME before I can go to him with it...and that is hard....
and what is scarier, is that *I* am the steadying force in this house..ME, major depression DX'd, ADD addled me..(also ruled by my hormonesm once a month...)
I am the one who has to maintain a calm level head...and that my friends, is truly frightening...
and very difficult..

add into that my eldest son, who is struggling in school, and has finally been given an IEP for his reading comprehnsion...FINALLY after 3 rounds of testing over 5 years of school...that is a relief on one hand and on the other hand, it raises Mommy Guilt..could i Have done more for him, can I really get my ass on the ball, mommy guilt is ugly. Is it MY genetics that have led him here..is it MY failings that have led him here...and on & on...

SO that is where I have been, buried within the depths of my mind, for weeks..not fun I say not fun at all..

I am going to a Casino for some penny slots too- coincidentally it is on my bday, (we planned it as a holiday outing, but it ended up being on my bday..hehe....)

I absolutely LOVE snow. it is SO pretty...makes the world appear clean and new. Then it melts and gets dirty and looks nasty....I am done w/ it by Feb...

It is 8:22 am and I Have to leave the house at 9 and I am NOT showered or dressed.

Since I am a hairstylist, I can do my hair when I get to work..it is SO awesome. I can also paint my nails when it is slow..hehe....

I have yet to see A Christmas Story this year..I love that movie!! it is so awesome...

My OVEN is fixed and functional after a WHOLE year of being busted...I have sorely missed it!!!

I am going to echo Keely's 'wow'- it's Tuesday already! damn.
time flies when you are on percocet(see this for further explanations)

1-it is SNOWING already.Novemeber 17th..snow. I know, I live in Pa, but sheesh...sounds like it is going to be a long cold winter! It is SO pretty tho...watching the whole world turn white & clean!

2-I am already stalking Black Friday ads. The hubby wants to get an LCD TV..ugh. men and their toys. The best I have seen so far is 699 at Kmart ON thanksgiving. which I may end up doing.

3-I took a NAP today...and a whole lot of NOTHING else. I guess being a klutz has it's advantages. heh. well, except for the 'no work' thing..not missing huge amounts of money, but every bit helps.

4- WHY are little boys so damn weird. I mean the can be loveable, but they can be just plain weird. Spastic & Weird. I guess not alot changes as they get older....

5- Gav told me last night that The Spawn is afraid of me..haha! My mission in life has been accomplished! This child listens to me more than his own father...lol..now we know why!!!

6-I have to take Physical Therapy for my shoulder. Should be interesting. I have never had PT before, tho I hear they are little Hitlers that enjoy torturing people.lol. ..we shall see.

7- I make my own hot cocoa mixes, and I also make my own Pancake & Waffle mixes. I haven't used or bought a premade mix in YEARS. I have all the ingredients on hand, so it is no harder than adding water, just takes a few more minutes. AND they are SO so much better. you should try it sometime!

yes, I am a klutz....I have a LONG history of being this way.
one of my earliest memories is of falling down stairs and hurting my arm...I was prolly 3...at my step-grammas house and got to close to the edge of the stairs..I remember quite vividly my vision vibrating as I bounced down the stairs...and I ended up at the hospital w/ a sling...
another incident w/ stairs was when I was 10, and I was at a pool party and it was late...I went to get some food and as I walked down the stairs from the porch to eat, I slipped on the wet wood and fell, hurting my back in the process...ended up in the ER...I was fine tho...
I have a history of various accidents..riding my bike down the hill behind my house when I was 10 or 11..I hit a rock & went ass over tea-kettle and had a massive scrape on my knee for the start of school..
when I was 9 I got hit in the eyebrow area w/ a rock..bratty kid threw it at me...have the scar 24 yrs later to show for it...
various ankle sprains thru the years...and MRI on the knee from falling down stairs 4x in one month...
fractured a toe from stepping wrong off (wait for it...) stairs...
and the coup degras breaking my ankle on BOTH sides when I twisted my ankle and fell, putting all my weight on it..I ended up needing surgery and became the proudowner of a plate and six screws..

My latest fiasco involves falling down stairs, I was coming down to shut off a light, after I had been dozing in bed, and whenI stepped, the edge of the stair hit the arch of my foot, causing me to slip & bounce on my ass, down about half of the stairs...and in the process, my right arm hit every other stair, and I DISLOCATED my shoulder.
OW-fucking-CH.
I knew it was not right.
I could NOT Move it...you could feel the muscles bulging forward unnaturally..and the PAIN was excruciating...
this was at 11 PM..call the hubby, and off to the ER we go...got there about 12:30 or so...took till 3 AM to see the DR and no pain killers till then.
none.
but then I got Fentanyl...which ROCKED the house...and something else too..
and they reset my shoulder...it hurt like a MOFO..I said some CHOICE words (sorry mom & gramma...I sounded like a drunken sailor) and when the joint when back into place, it felt GOOD. like heaven must feel....
I am still sore, and in a sling for a few weeks...BUT everything is back where God intended it to be...heh..and the bestest thing?
I got PERCOET babey...yehaww...I heart percs...I have never had them before...and I like them!!!!!!

yeah, it is never good when I start out w/ a foul word....

SO The Spawns father is coaching basketball this year, and wants Gav to join the team...I tried to put the kibosh on it from the start but he is not intelligent enough to get it, or is too stubborn to take a damn hint...I do NOT want the following 2 things to happen...

Gav to have to spend any more time around The Spawn than necessary..living this close to him is more than enough..
I do NOT want to be publicly associated w/ his father....it sounds so mean and so bitchy...but it is true...you associate w/ those that are looked upon poorly (and behave poorly) then you end up being lumped in w. them and I am NOT doing that. not. He is not a *horrible* guy, but he is not that bright, and that household is messed UP and dysfunctional...

that being said, that team needs sponsored, and Del agreed to sponsor it w/ his electrical side business..which is OK...it is the team, not that coach, that is sponsored....

so he asked me AGAIN tonight if Gav wants to play (and to be clear, he NEVER mentioned any interest in playing b-ball before..now he mentioned it, but it is b/c of The Spawn wanting to play...and he has played a team sport this year..football..he can wait till spring to play again...)
I said, no I want him to wait till spring to play any more team sports, to which he says that he need Gav for an 8th player..WTF?
DO NOT back me into a corner. period.
I maintained and said no still..but I feel like a horrible bitch...but not at the same time..
bleh.
I call it Catholic Guilt..I was raised Catholic and have always had a misplaced sense of guilt....and so do most other Catholics..I say the baptismal water causes it..just a theory tho..

my weird skin issues

I have always had skin prone to itching and acne..I can't use cheap lotion..makes me break out..some perfumes make my skin burn for a while..make up has to be good quality..can only use certain skin cleansers and very few moisturizers..most glittery lotions or powders make me itch or get blotchy...and I get yeast infections from cheap body washes (TMI I know..but had to share..) & lets not even go into body acne..mainly my back..ick. it sucks. comes from my dads side of the family..

I recently started using 2.5% benzoyl peroxide gel from acne.org and it has been fantastic...has stopped the mildly cystic acne I had around my jaw line completely..I only get them once in a great while, if at all.

I have had an odd thing happen before a breakout twice in as many months..once on my chin and now on the nape of my neck, just where my hairline ends...so usualy when you get a nasty 'cyctic' type zit, you feel a bump under the skin & pain at the same time..well, these have been PAIN first, like you whacked it against something, THEN 3-4 days later the bumps show up..all in all it lasts about 7-10 days before it goes away...but I am mystified at the way it is starting..the pain first..then the cystic like acne..it is annoying and I have never had it happen to me before...I hope it is a fluke..will be mentioning it at my next Dr appt...

anyone else have this happen?
anyone have similar skin issues as I do??
I have to use Clinique make up to have NO breakouts at all..and wash my face EVERY NIGHT. talk about a PITA. oily skin kinda sucks..but then I have few wrinkles, so I will be OK w/ it :)

I thought I beat the cold I was brewing, but alas, it seems I have developed a cough...bleh..I am annoyed by this, but it has not deterred me from having my 5 or less cigs in a day..bad bad me..

My dog is a spaz. seriously. he follows me ALL.over. the house...if I walk up the stairs, he follows me, even if I am only up there for 2 seconds..sometimes, I do it b/c it is fun to annoy him..

My eldest son has a friend, that is a girl..(NOT a girlfriend, right..Right???) they go roller-blading and play PlayStation a lot..but this morning my hubby saw him waiting for her to walk to the bus...heh...denial ain't just a river in egypt..and I like my little fantasy world I have constructed..it is nice here...(he wil be 12 in Jan...should I worry???)

I am late paying my property taxes. and I am annoyed I forgot..if I have to get a cashiers check to pay them I am going to be even more annoyed.

I saw a guy run a red light today..the turning lane got a green arrow, but the light to go straight stayed red..he TOTALLY almost caused an accident, good thing the jeep that was starting to turn was paying attention..jackass...

By 2 peeps...one is WAY over due..(coz I am a ginormous slacker!...)
and one was just a few days ago!!
The First is from HoneyWine & the second 2 are from Julie @ Cool Mom Guide

and they both call for 6 or 7 random facts..so I am going w/ 7....

1- I have no full siblings...I have 2 sisters & a brother, but they are all half..not that it diminishes it at all...just I am a unique genetic expression! heh..if that is good or bad, I don't know..
2-I had 2 completely drug free deliveries w/ my kids..NOTHING. period. no epidural..no stadol..nothin....and if I would have a 3rd (not likely) I would have a home birth in a hot second!
my labors were 3.5 and 5 (about) hrs long..completely uncomplicated and easy in the grand scheme of child birth!
3- I am a Steelers fan, by genetics..lol..my family is full of fans, and I think I had no choice but to be one!! I LOVE football..the violence..it frikkin rocks!
4-I was engaged when I was 17...and as much as I don't regret it I think I would have heart failure if my kids got engaged at that age! mind you we did not marry until I was 21...but still..I don't know how my mother didn't lose her mind..
5-I broke my ankle almost 4 years ago, BOTH sides and had to have surgery for a plate & screws to put it all back together again...and I can FEEL the screws on my ankle..it is FUNNY to make people touch it!!
6-I did not drive until I was 22...YES, you read right...22...series of circumstances led me to wait, then we moved out of state where a class was required, and we were too poor to afford them..when I had my eldest son, then I got my license...
7-I smoke. Yes, I do! and I am no sorry, nor do I want to stop anytime soon..I dont smoke more than 3-5 a day tho..I can restrain myself if needed..and my MOTHER doesn't know..yes, I am 33 years old and my mom doesn't know I smoke..LOSAH..lmao..

heh..leave it to me to be different!
I am just full of many thoughts..mostly completely random..no cohesive theme..at all!
SO brace yourself!

Morning routines..as far as personal appearances go...Mine goes as follows..
Get up, suck down coffee..take shower..which includes exfoliating my face w/ one of those mesh glove thingies, every.day I must do this or I turn into a huge zit..then after I am dried off, I apply a 2% benzoyl peroxide gel to fight said zits... then I decide if I am too lazy to straighten my hair or not, if I am, gel it and diffuse it dry..if I am up for it, I straighten via a blow dryer and round brush, then a flat iron if needed...then I decide if my skin needs to be lotioned up, and choose a nice scent and do so..pick a perfume most days, and head out..now, one of the perks to being a stylist is that I can do my hair at work if I need to, or touch it up anyways...which I so take advantage of..I also apply my make up there..that so rocks..

I am voting today.
a luxury my great grandmother (who lived to be 99) did not have until she was an adult, simply because she was a woman..she never forgot that and voted in every election thereafter..
It always amazed me..thinking that someone I knew was not permitted to vote, simply because she was a she...and it made an impression on me.
While I am not thrilled w/ the pool of candidates this election year, I will be voting..
Both candidates have their scary parts to them..
Obama is VERY liberal..very..and that scares me. He wants to redistribute my wealth..that scares me..I worry that he will be able to defend this country should we go under attack again...
I do like that he is so new, fresh..not a life long politician..
McCain scares me because he is of the older school..what if he is the same as we have? We need something different..what if he is too out of touch w/ the common man...
I have no problem thinking he can defend this country sufficiently..and I feel he is has the intelligence to work w/ the mess the economy is in now..

all in all, a sad pool to choose from...but, vote I will- because it is important...people die for the right to choose their leaders...lets not forget that fact!

OK, this is what you see when you walk in the door..(I may or may not keep that brown cabinet..I need the storage, but not sure if it matches...) the door was stripped and repainted and got a new knob!

THEN my shower curtain, I so love it..it is beautimous..then the wall w/ the solid color on it and the shelves/nook beside the sink..

Yes, my children decided to go Old School for halloween..*sniff* warms a mothers heart when they want to go as her favorite 80's horror characters!
Freddy & Jason (Freddy always was my favorite of all the horror peeps..he was not only scary, but sarcastically funny! I heart sarcasm!!)
They did very very well..despite one of Freddy's claws being broken & lost one mere hour before we were set to leave...daddy got some duct tape (if you can't duck it,fuck it as the saying goes..heh) and saved the day (he was impaired, but we chose to look at it as he was injured in a pre trick or treating battle w/ Jason...lol)

OMFG...not only do I ALWAYS lose the neighbor lottery (never fails, I always live beside a freak of some kind..it is ridiculous!)

The Spawn & his father are going trick or treating w/ us tonight.I want to cry, fall on the ground & CRY...kick, scream..throw things and bite someone.....ugh.
and of COURSE how the fuck do you say NO....I want to KILL my husband for being this guys friend..honest to GOD...

NEW TV shows & watching them online

OK, so I am admittedly a Sci-Fi geek..I LOVE Star Trek:TNG (Make it so Number 1..heh..love that line..)
I LOVE vampire stories (ala Stephanie Myers & Laurell K Hamilton )
I love time travel stories of any kind...LOVE them.
I also like prehistoric fiction (yes, very obscure...think Jean Auel )
This leads me to 2 TV shows I am currently addicted to (OK 3..)
True Blood on HBO..a reality where vampires are a 'race class' unto themselves and are able to go 'mainstream' (IE not drinking people blood) by the invention of a blood substitute called, Tru Blood (and it comes in different flavors, erm..TYPES, like O, A etc..hehe..love that)
AND it has some freaking awesome sex scenes..heh..

ALSO on the network TV front, I just started watching Life on Mars on ABC
basically, it is about a cop who gets hit by a car, and wakes up in 1973..hehe..talk about culture shock..I so dig the conceptof WHY he is there..and IF he is there...
and what is he supposed to do there?
Is it real? or is his 2008 life the fantasy.. *ohm* there is a mind clearing question...
I have also enjoyed learning more about the 1970's, the decade I was born in...the music is much better than I have ever been led to believe..

AND , now this is one me and the kids enjoy...

the time travel sucked me in, and the story has me hooked..it is an awesomely imaginative series...and it has some kick ass fights in it..coz lets face it..we all love some kick ass action!!

The silly dog of mine

OK so this dog is pretty fun..we got him from a local rescue 3 yrs ago...his name is Zoe (why, we don't know..he is a HE for sure..but it fits him..) he is a german shep terrier mix..just an awesome dog..maybe not that bright sometimes..lmao..but he is a wonderful fit for our family..
WELL one of his favorite past-times is to lay in the sun in my eldest sons room..you can find him up there on ANY sunny day at all..basking..
the funny part is that he will lay in the sun for so long, he starts PANTING..I told him I wouldn't be surprised if he gave himself heat stroke..lol..
I managed to snap a pic of him today...panting..as he lays in the sun..

What I realized in therapy

so I was in my weekly(!) therapy yesterday and as I am talking about my week, the subject rolled around to my families history of mental illness.
I realized that I have 4 relatives that have been hospitalized for MI..my mom's dad..an uncle, an aunt & a cousin....this does not include any stints in rehab, of which I have 3 more relatives who have done that.
THAT is frightening.
My mom's dad was schizophrenic....so was one of her uncles..
I mean I know that my family history is peppered with mental illness and addictions..on BOTH sides..but I never realized how bad it is..
It is SCARY.
I know I have a DX of Major Depression...it is a nasty nasty thing that is quite obviously genetic..I am currently medicated & am in a remission..thank god. I just never quite REALLY 'got' the scope of my genetic probability of having a mental illness...I think I never had a prayer to NOT have one.
I also have addictions running rampant in my family tree..
alcoholics on BOTH sides, bad.
Rehab bad & some who have QUIT drinking all together..we are talking 2 generations deep...
My mother broke the cycle w/ her & passed that onto my sister and I. Neither one of us have any inclination to be an alcoholic...thanks Mom.
I worry for my kids because Del's side of the family has addictions as well. I pray that Del & I have broken that cycle and that we can not pass on the behavior to the kids...I think we have.
I know we have stopped the cycle of dysfunction that we witnessed as children (my parents being divorced since I was 2, his being in a shitty marriage & dysfunctional grandparents marriages as well...we saw few healthy relationships in our lives..)

I wonder how abnormal my family tree is...anyone else have some loonies tucked back in the corners of their family tree???

I am just glad I know it & I have the resources to keep my mind healthy!!
Depression is NASTY & I hope to GOD that if you have never had it, you never do.
Its like being in a black pit of despair.
I always likened it to being in a hole, just deep enough to be able to reach the edge, & when you do grab onto the edge, and try to hoist yourself out, the dirt under your hand crumbles..so you try again, and it crumbles..and that is what keeps happening no matter where you grab..so you can NEVER climb out..
simply put, it is HELL on earth.

freaking 2 years after remodeling it..i have had the colors for almost a year..so shameful..
but we ended up having to tear down an old plaster wall we didn't expect to have to tear down..we have the door freshly painted and the new drywall up and all it needs is one more coat of mud and sanded..
anywho..
HERE is my shower curtain

and these are the colors I am using, per sherwin williams paint chooser..the wall behind my mirror is going to be the dark brown (I am doing a stippling faux technique so it isn't such a solid color..)
the rest will be the halcyon green..
I am so damn excited to finish this I can't stand it

yeah, when I say my 'ADD addled brain' I SO mean it..
I have been gtreated in the past for it w/ Adderall (sent from the GODS I say) and Ritalin (sent by someone who cares i.e. not as good as Adderall..but good)
SO today I was filling my pill box for the week, I added my cymbalta and then what I thought was my diuretic..then I took said pills for today...the diuretic tasted funny..so I look at the bottle and saw that it was my old RX for RITALIN (I stopped taking both Adderall and Ritalin b/c of my blood pressure..)
I am out of my diuretic and mistook my old Ritalin for it..
so this means 2 things..
1- I have to stop after work to get my script filled for the diuretic
2- I REALLY need to start taking something for my ADD again..I feel FANTABULOUS
my brain is working so much clearer and I am moving faster...
you never know how abnormal you are until you feel normal again..in my case, it is so painfully obvious...

So, I went into work to get my hair highlighted w/ my funky red highlights...and while my co-worker Kelly was drying me, she said ya know, I wanna do an inverted bob on your hair..I said OK..lmao..

SO we are going to go to a local Japanese steak house tonight for dinner, and as I was perusing their menu online, I saw that they have SUSHI!
I have never had GOOD sushi (the one time I did try it was in a Chinese buffet..yeah..not such a good idea..I.c.k.y)
and I have heard to many peeps rave about it..I want to try it!!!

any advice on what to try or what to steer clear of?

well, Nadine is home and baby Brandon is w/ his mommy and daddy tonight.
She is doing amazingly well & so is her 6 year old.
I have pictures of him and his parents..
they are wonderful, beautiful people and are SO grateful to Nadine for allowing them to be parents.
They bought her a ring w/ a sapphire in it (Septembers birthstone) so she will always remember her son.
and they will be keeping in contact w/ Nadine and her son so he knows his brother is well taken care of. They are so sensitive to the situation, it is amazing.
for your viewing pleasure, one of the cutest babies I have seen and his new family...

The story of my best friend and I

I have had my best friend Nadine since we were in grade school...
prolly 3rd grade..
we have always been close..
her family is my adopted family..i love them :)

When she was 17, she ended up pregnant..her first time even..and she hid it from her mom and dad for 5-6 months..when she did tell them..it was quite the scandal and no one outside of her household knew..not even her grandparents..
once, her gramma came to visit unexpectedly, and we had to camouflage her 8 months pregnant belly w/ a laundry basket filled w/ clothes...it totally worked..lol..
She decided to place him up for adoption..found a nice family(a presby preacher who had interestingly enough, had adopted the daughter of a friend of ours...) locally.
when she delivered Michael, I was there.
I cried w/ her when she relinquished him, I watched her suffer silently, missing her baby boy for months..all the while she insisted that she was OK, which she was, she knew he had to be given up..it was just not possible financially to keep him.
And we were 17..so hard to raise a baby at that age..when you are still babies yourselves.
But I knew she was hurting more than she let on..she slept w/ his hospital blanket for months, breathing in the smell of him, to comfort her aching heart.

Life moved on, she healed(mostly) and we grew up..
she lived w/ Del and I in SLC utah for a bit, that ended badly, and we didn't speak for a few years..we lost touch since Del & I moved back to Pa..and she joined the Job Corps and experienced life in a way I never will..she fought wildfires, learned to weld..got her GED..and lived alone & away from anyone she knew.

I saw her mom 3 yrs later, and asked after Nadine...mummy(as I call her) arranged for us to meet, heal our old wounds, and we became as tight as ever.
I even gave back to her a bag of her belongings I carried w/ me from place to place since we left Utah.
She was amazed that I had kept it all.
I told her that I knew we would find each other again.
One thing I have always told her is that if reincarnation does exist, that we have ALWAYS been in each others lives. always.
It is like we have known each other for lifetimes, we know each other THAT well.
We kept in sporadic contact over the years, since I lived in Harrisburg & her in Western Pa.
we went out when I was home visiting and talked regularly.
Then her and her family moved to North Dakota.
We talked off and on but I was raising a family & she was working the hours of a single woman so we didn't get to talk much.
She met a man she loved, they had a son & we talked regularly after that.
sharing the ups and downs of motherhood and relationships.

2 yrs ago, her relationship began to fall apart..he was not sleeping w her in bed..he was out all hours..just didn't seem right. While she was content to be home w/ her son and the boy she raised from 3 yrs old (her BF's son- and her son as well as far as she in concerned)
Well, the worst thing ever happened and she discovered he was cheating on her..and not only that, but for TWO years.
She was devastated...it totally ruined her self esteem and she basically had a mental breakdown, over a period of time.
She eventually healed enough to be functional, but it was a long hard road, fraught with many relapses and tears.
She almost lost her son to his father..and finally she got him back...and thought she had her man back too..but alas, that was not the case.
THEN she came up pregnant to this man, again.
He doesn't want her to keep it, he pressures her to keep her mouth shut and have an abortion.
She refuses and decided to give him up for adoption.
This morning after a high risk pregnancy and many worries, she delivered a healthy 7 lb son.
His new family is there, fawning over him , ecstatic to have a baby when they cannot have one themselves.
She knows she has to do this, and has made her peace with this.
BUT, I know she is going to be hurting so badly.

Keep her in your thoughts today.
I wish I could be there, but it is not in the cards right now.
SO I will do what I have done for the past 2 years, talk to her, listen to her tears and love her w/ all my heart.
It will have to be enough.

Yeah, I'd like to know what it sounds like..coz I pretty sure I got called that when I got chinese take out last night..
Del always gets the same thing..kung-pau chicken...always.
for some ungodly reason,last night I circled on the menu...GENERAL TSO's chicken..not even remotely the same,not even in the same section..
WTF?
The lady was nice enough to allow me to reorder the right item, but gawd..I felt like such a dork...I was sure I had ordered the right item..

OK so we know Natural Selection weeds out the weak and/or stupid people in the world..stupid people do stupid things, and therefore their stupid genes don't get passed on b/c stupidity kills.
WELL, this all went awry with Ugh and Ogh..cavemen.
Ugh was the smarter of the 2
Ogh was the dumbass..
Ugh became fond of Ogh for whatever reason (hey- stupidity is amusing to the rest of us..)
One day Ogh was going to go club a sabertooth for dinner, he went about it stupidly however(took a club instead of an arrow. for instance), and was very close to being the saber tooths dinner
Ugh felt badly for him, and his conciseness got the best of him and he had to go save him from being sabertooth kibble.
And this, Ogh lived to procreate.
Every stupid person in the universe is related to Ogh.

Ugh cared too much.
Which is why we STILL have stupid people.
No one lets them fuck up and die like they should.

next time you see someone stupid doing something deadly..do us all a favor..walk away ;)

OK, so let me say I am ALWAYS In need of health insurance..especially mental health..I am in WEEKLY therapy..I *need* it..my life was almost completely down the toilet before I realized this..
Second, I am also on meds for my mental health...have been for 6 years..and will be prolly for the rest of my life..just how it is for me..
Now, we ALL know how horrid the health care industry is to deal with..the cost is CRAZY to the nth degree. WELL, my husbands company has been trying desperately (as have been many others) to keep this cost down..and they have had to switch companies every year to keep the costs affordable..
WELL... this year the picked Aetna, which apparently my Dr does NOT accept..My Dr rocks the house..she is awesome and I am NOT going to switch. period.
SO, now I have decided that we are going to seek out our own health insurance..I am sick of switching and being at the mercy of whatever crappy insurance they pick up..
THIS is so not going to be fun. I have NO idea what to look for, how to choose..ugh..this sucks hairy donkey balls...so wish me luck..and please, send any information you may have this way ;) I am most assuredly going to need it!

Fun filled day w/ the family

went to a local amusement park w/ my sister and the family..her company pays for 2 tickets outright, and then offers a decent discount on the rest, so we got lunch & all for the price of 25 a ticket..not too bad..and the Big Boy took a friend..
which was nice, because we could send them off to a ride they wanted to ride and we didn't and not worry...it was FUN..

We rode the Phantoms Revenge (more info here ), the Jack Rabbit & the Racer..Gav was STILL not tall enough for the thunderbolt...which was a bummer since it is one of my faves..so the older kids went on it alone..and we went on the PitFall which was WICKEDLY fun...I screamed like a 6 YO girl..lol..
the SwingShot was also fun (this is on the same link and the PitFall..scroll around you will find it)
Oddly, I am terrified of heights(well, of falling..and landing..lol..) but I LOVE roller coasters and scary rides..granted, I ride w/ my eyes closed most of the time..lmao..but the sensations are awesome..
Oh and the Aero 360 which goes TOTALLY upside down...the big boys chickend OUT completely..hehe..

Gav rode EVERYTHING we did and was not scared..he surprises me sometimes..of course, this is the SAME child that as an an infant, would not cry till the second or 3rd shot at his DR appts..so..this fits in w/ his personaility completely..

all in all a GREAT day...now I am TIRED, my feet are sore, and my throat hurts from all the childlike screaming..hehe..

but it was way fun!!

What a way to start a day...try to take a shower, and get in, water is cool..so I crank it up, still cold, turn it ALL the way to hot, nada...
SO I call the husband, he says prolly the pilot light went out...he said you can light it again or wait for me..and knowing me, and my propensity for making accidents happen...I opted to wait..lol..heh.. no need to explode the whole neighborhood...
so here I sit, unwashed and wanting to shower...I may brave a cold shower, but maybe not too..lol..
It is DAMN hot outside..I turned on the AC after not needing it for a few days...blessed sweet AC..how I love thee...

been a boring weekend..lol..
had work, kids had football..sunday we visited my mom and then my gramma..Monday we hung around home..cooked out, roasted marshmallows..nothing exciting...

I am SO SO glad school has started again..well, sort of..6:30 am wake up sucks ass..but the 6th grader is getting more used to it..so I may not have to get up that early anymore..w00t!
i have QUIET and it is SO much easier to get ONE kid at a time ready for school...

I am asking myself that very question..
why you ask? I have a history of having a difficult time losing weight..very difficult.
I like food (blush) and alot of it..I also like my 'free time' to lay around (read: play on the laptop..lol..) exercise bores me..lol...
well, in the last 18 months or so I have lost 26 lbs..TWENTY SIX.
that is very not like me...
now granted I have started working (since april) and have been on a diuretic for about 6 months..(for high BP..which I believe is weight related....)
so I am guessing a combination of those 2 factors has been instrumental in losing..
Part of me is thinking I stood on the scale wrong..coz I STILL feel all bloated and icky..but apparently not..I have been watching what I am eating too..more fresh foods, veggies..letting my stomachs cry for food go unheeded (heh)
I am STILL in the red zone BMI wise (39...w0w...better than in the 40's tho..)

Growing, changing and sadness

OK, so I am not usually a weepy mom....I rarely am weepy over my kids growth and changing...lost teeth make me smile..birthdays make me think of them as infants and their births and always makes me feel warm and fuzzy..I love seeing them reach milestones in their development..
BUT for some unknown reason, when they start school, it makes me weepy...
This year the Big Boy is going to Middle School..THAT is part of it..he looks SO grown up..so much like a pre-teen..and I am learning to cherish his openness while it is still here..his willingness to talk to me, his willingness to hug and snuggle with me..I know it will be short lived, and in a few years he will be a sullen teenager..not giving me more than monosyllabic words and grunts ;)

I sent him off 40 minutes ago to his new bus stop, alone...into the BIG world of Middle School...on the bus w/ kids 3/4 yrs older than him...to a school he has only been briefly introduced to..
It is so hard to let go sometimes..to let them be grown ups..to do things on their own...this is definitely one of those times.
